The image in my source (Carr 1956) shows the motto on a scroll. Any thoughts if that's a mistake in my source, or an older version?
Mark Sensen, 24 May 2000

Although I'm sure that my source is more recent, I can't guarantee my images are exact copies of the current military flags. The best way to ensure this (and also to ensure the map in the current air force flags) is to go to Jakarta, where there is a museum displaying armed forces exhibits, with a room devoted solely to displaying their flags. I'll go there someday and give you news of what I see.

Rank Flags (new system)

In the rank flags of the Indonesian Army the star(s) correspond to the officer to which the flag belongs. The background color is the red, I don't know why it's not green (but I think the US army also uses red instead of white as displayed in their branch flag).
